The temperature today is in the high sixties. In St. Louis. In Late July. Is this one of the signs of the apocalypse?
We've had quite a few close encounters of the spider-kind recently probably due to some wet weather, hot weather and lack of chemicals in our house to keep them away. And interestingly enough, the cat who won't play with ants, loves to play with spiders. And June bugs. She really, really loves the June bugs.

I really wanted to post a picture of the world's cutest watermellon (only 1" long!) which is currently growing in my back yard garden but haven't had time to go out with a camera yet. I know no one cares what I'm growing in my back yard, but damnit, I'm excited about my tomatoes, zuchini, jalapenos, green peppers, canteloupe and watermelon! I'm less excited about the cucumbers because, although they are one of my favorite veggies, they are growing at a rate that has me concerned for our house! Seriously. They are already over the garden wall and spilling into the rest of the yard.
This one took me a minute to get, then I remembered that Chris just got a bunch of Godzilla movies in the mail the other day.
So I woke up for work yesterday and was so tired that I just could not function. My boss was nice enough to let me take the day off so I could sleep. Which I did, until 3 p.m. and only woke up then because I had to go to class last night. As a person who usually wakes up at 6 am on the weekends and enjoys being as productive as possible with my time off, it killed me to waste a vacation day sleeping, but man did I need it.
